participation. Sessions will not be recorded. Attendance

A draft document, ideally a grant submission or

Saavedra will discuss a pilot research study being developed to explore whether technology can help support long-term muscle-strengthening activity among rural older adults. Maintaining muscle strength is an important factor in healthy aging, yet relatively little is known about effective strategies for sustaining these activities in rural communities.

The session will provide attendees with an overview of the proposed study and an opportunity to offer feedback that may help strengthen the research design and ensure it reflects community needs and perspectives. This support group is for women diagnosed with breast cancer at any stage of diagnosis and treatment. The mission is to ensure that through information, empowerment, and peer support that no one faces breast cancer alone. The meetings will be structured around the participants needs and interests.

This support group is for women diagnosed with breast cancer at any stage of diagnosis and treatment. The mission is to ensure that through information, empowerment, and peer support that no one faces breast cancer alone. The meetings will be structured around the participants needs and interests.

This support group is for women diagnosed with breast cancer at any stage of diagnosis and treatment. The mission is to ensure that through information, empowerment, and peer support that no one faces breast cancer alone. The meetings will be structured around the participants needs and interests.

UTMB Health offers an educational program for patients having total joint replacement surgery. If you are scheduled for, or are considering a total hip or knee joint surgery, join us for an informative educational session on preparing for surgery, expectations for the day of surgery, postoperative care and beyond.

The Joint Replacement Boot Camp is presented by Nurses, Rehabilitation Staff, and Social Workers. Join us to get a head start and be informed and prepared for your total hip or knee joint replacement surgery.

Each 1 hour class includes:

AerobicsBalance exercises Strength training Stretching Fall Prevention EducationWhile originally marketed for seniors 65+, SAIL welcomes adults 50 and older to attend.

Don't wait to start improving your balance and strength! SAIL class is a welcoming environment for people with various mobility tolerances. The exercises can be modified for sitting. Participants are encouraged to take breaks and slow down as needed.

Classes are on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00 am to 9:00 am at St. Christopher Episcopal Church.

Registration: Call the Labor & Delivery Registration desk at (409) 772- 2893 to check availability and schedule your tour.

Tours are scheduled every Sunday at noon & 4 p.m. in Galveston and will be between 30 and 45 minutes. Tours will cover:

Labor & Delivery on the 3rd floorHigh Risk OB on the 4th floorMother Baby Unit on the 5th floorFour moms will be scheduled to take the tour, and each mom is allowed to bring one visitor with them for a max of eight people per tour.

Parking Information

Park in the Hospital Parking Garage* on University Boulevard between Texas Ave. and Darrell Royal Ave.

After parking, walk to and enter the front of the John Sealy Hospital. Once inside, follow the signs to John Sealy Hospital and take the elevators to the 3rd floor Labor & Delivery Registration Desk.

*Parking will be validated for individuals in this location. Bring your ticket into the hospital when you arrive.
